You know what I don’t like? I don’t like when you get your day set with all the things you want to accomplish, things you’re really looking forward to doing, and some invisible little gremlin comes along and totally messes with your mojo.
This was one of this days.
Due to the crazy, insane and incredibly stressful things going on lately, I haven’t baked in my kitchen, I mean REALLY baked, in a long time and haven’t made bread in particular. So I had a Saturday to myself and set out to do just that.
These came out great!
These did not.
Seriously, what is going on with these baguettes? Put them in the oven and they transform into some hideous twist bread, not too mention they decide to cook a lot faster than normal and went for the deep dark tan.
Tans are NOT good on baguettes!
And we’re not even going to talk about the puff chioux pastries.
No I’m just not.
OK look here’s the thing, I have never EVER messed up puff chioux (puff pastries), I mean they’re practically fool proof. Come on they’re so easy and well…..today…today…they just weren’t playing nice.
Let’s just leave it at that. I can’t talk about it.
I need therapy and the best thing is to give something away.
So it’s not much but for being a wee little blog it’s a wee little start.
Awhile back I discovered Justin’s Nut Butters and fell instantaneously and forever in love. So much so that I told the whole world about them in a post.
Just so happens the amazing nut butter gods and goddesses at Justin’s loved my post and, as a thank you, sent me two bottles of their peanut butter; one to keep and one to give away.
They didn’t tell me that but I thought it would be a nice thing to do and I could share my love of all things Justin’s Nut Butter with the world…or at least one person in the world.
See the one on the right, your right, yep that belongs to one of you.
Ok so all you have to do to win is leave a comment telling me about one of your greatest kitchen disasters or disappointments. I’m thinking by hearing your stories and giving something wonderful away, I won’t feel so bad about my baguettes and those other things we aren’t talking about.
Mr. Sweet Butter and I will go over the comments and pick a winner by Wednesday afternoon.
