I’ve received a lot of emails asking to order these soaps. I am not a distributor for E.Barrett soaps, nor am I affiliated with the company.
It has come to my attention these soaps are no longer being made available; at least for the interim.
Whenever we go to Disney we always make a point of picking up a certain thing or well things to bring back home with us.
Cotton candy? Nope
Goofy’s autograph? Nope
Stuffed Minnie? Nope
Giant light up Tinkerbell balloon? Nope
Mickey Mouse ears? Nope. In all honesty, in the six years we’ve been annual pass-holders I’ve never purchased a pair. I’m wondering if I’m breaking some cardinal rule or upsetting the delicate balance of the universe or something? Gosh I hope not. I’d hate to think global warming and the current economic disaster is a result of my never owning a set of genuine Mickey ears.
I digress, global warming aside, the one thing we always bring home with us, believe it or not, is…soap.
Yes I said soap. There’s a little store in the France pavillion that sells the most wonderful all natural French milled soaps and we just love them. If you haven’t heard, I’ve got a thing for France and French things.
They have so many different scents and never dry out the skin or leave that icky soapy film all behind. (I sound like a commercial huh?) They’re by a company called E. Barrett and they are made directly in France. Oddly I believe the company was started in Julian California. Don’t ask I don’t try to understand how these things work. I just know both Mr. Sweet Butter and myself love them.
We’ve tried several different ones and some of our favorites are,
Verbena is really refreshing and I think a man or woman could use it honestly. Plus it’s green, green is pretty. Green is my favorite color. Green is nice.
Blackberry is a recent tester for us and it’s yummy and fresh and fruity. Don’t eat it though, would be very bad. But hey it’s all natural so eh..you never know. Could clean out your insides just as good as your outside. I don’t think I’ll try.
Milk is definitely the go to soap for anyone who likes to be clean, smell clean but not smell like flowers or fruit or other earthy things. Man, woman, child or even animal would like this and it doesn’t ever get sour. Plus it has that cute cow on it. See how cute?
Ocean is Mr. Sweet Butter’s favorite. It makes him smell clean, fresh, masculine, all male, yummy and oceany like a clean ocean not one of those dirty polluted ones. I don’t think it was designed for men alone but it does smell so niiiiceee on him. Maybe it’s one of those fragrances that adapts to Ph. Maybe it smells different on a woman.
Being a complete girly girl that I am, wild rose is my dreamy favorite. There are two different rose soaps but wild rose has real rose petals in it and just seems to “stick” better; make me smell all rosy throughout the day better. Love it!
They have lots of other scents too like, mandarin, honeysuckle, lavender, vanilla orange blossom, sandalwood, honey…whew there are tons of them.
It’s never a good thing when we run out of them and honestly the hour+ drive to EPCOT is a long trip for soap. Granted these bars are pretty big and tend to last a lot longer than your store bought stuff but that’s still a long trip and if you’re coming from say Alaska, WOW! Long trip indeed.
Thanks god for the web. You can buy them online and although they’re a bit cheaper online a little shipping and handling makes them about even. The website though is a gold mine! They have lotion, liquid soaps, candles, popouri and salves. Personally I adore the sample soaps you can buy separately or in one of three ready made groups:
French, Cuisine & Jardin (garden in French).
I love their philosophies as well. They have beautiful wooden soap dishes that are amazing and I like what they promote:
Our soap dishes are made for us in the USA by Work Training Center, a non-profit organization providing services to people with disabilities.
You gotta love that.
Hmmmm I think I’ll go take another shower.
