  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Allspice
  • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier
  • ¾ cup Heavy cream
  • ½ cup Milk
  • Orange Zest
  • 6-8 Thick cut Bread
Fruit Syrup Topping
  • 1 Medium orange, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 Apples, peeled and sliced
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Vanilla paste or ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1½ ounces Grand Marnier
  • ½ cup Pure Maple syrup
Instructions
Fruit Syrup Topping
  1. Combine all ingredients excluding apples, oranges and butter in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Heat sauce in a sauté pan on medium-low heat & add apples, oranges and butter.
  3. Simmer slowly until sauce begins to thicken & apples are tender.
Frech Toast
  1. Add eggs, sugar, spices & Grand Marnier in a flat bottomed bowl and mix well. Adding spices before the milk & cream ensures total incorporation and prevents them from floating on the top of the batter.
  2. Add cream, milk & orange zest and whip well.
  3. Heat a skillet with a little butter to medium-low.
  4. Dip bread slices in batter and drain excess. Cook on both sides until golden, about 7 minutes. Careful not to burn.
  5. Cut each slice of toast in half diagonally & plate.
  6. Top with apples & orange syrup. Garnish with powdered sugar & more orange zest if desired.
  7. Serve
