White Cheddar And Onion Pasta

A savory classic with a simple and delicious flavor. Perfect as a side dish or all on it's own.

  • 16 oz pasta
  • 2 cups milk
  • ⅓ cup flour
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons ground pepper
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 3½ cups white cheddar cheese.
  1. Cook pasta to package directions, to al dente.
  2. In a separate pot melt butter on low heat.
  3. Add flour and spices to create a roux.
  4. Slowly stir in milk until completely combined.
  5. Add onion.
  6. Allow cream mixture to thicken and slowly add cheese.
  7. Stir constantly on low heat until cheese is completely melted and sauce thickens.
  8. Pour over pasta and mix thoroughly.
  9. Transfer dish to to baking dish and bake 15 minutes. (optional).
  10. Garnish with grated cheese and parsley.
If sauce is too think, add extra milk a tablespoon at a time. If sauce is too thin after adding cheese, microwave 2 tablespoons of butter in a small bowl and add flour to create extra roux. Add roux a little at a time to desired thickness.
